Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities
The November seminar is focused on logistics, specifically the new initiative from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency entitled '10 + 2'. If you're impacted by importing/exporting regulations, I encourage you to attend. Details
The January 2009 seminar will feature Mr. Randy Owens, VP & Sr. Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Mr. Owens will provide an economic forecast for 2009 at the Genworth campus on Broad Street. And jumping ahead to May 2009; you won't want to miss this workshop as our statistical experts in Quality Translation Services (Central Quality Assurance) will present a sanitized case study of the research they are performing for the Leaf Dept. The May seminar will be held in the Bay 3 Overlook at the Manufacturing Center.
As the Program Chair for the 2008–2009 Seminar Series, our goal is to provide ISM–CV–RMC members and the Richmond business community with timely, relevant and insightful seminars that provide practical strategies from regional experts. Most of the seminars will be held from 3:00 – 4:30 pm and the locations will vary; please check the website or the weekly schedule announcement in the Richmond Times Dispatch – Metro Business Section for details. Registration is online and the cost is minimal. In addition, each ISM–CV–RMC seminar will provide at least 1.0 hour of Continuing Education Units.
